　　Currently, the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China has officially approved Dalian Fugu Aquatic Product Co., Ltd as the first monopoly enterprise of China in sales of puffer fish and its products. Dalian Fugu Aquatic Product Co., Ltd becomes the only enterprise which gets national approval. The era of Chinese people “eating puffer fish while putting the life at risk” has come to an end.
　　Puffer fish is always been greatly recommended by the international market for its fresh meat and delicious taste as well as some health factors such as high protein, low fat, etc. However, due to its toxicity, general enterprises have difficulties in making technological breakthroughs, solving the aquaculture bottleneck, etc.; thus, they cannot increase the output. As early as 1990s, the price of puffer fish in the international market reached 250,000yuan/ton. In recent years, as the aquaculture scale developing, the price falls. The puffer fish output of China is about 6,000tons/year and are sold to Japan and Korea at a very low price of 50,000-80,000yuan/ton in which Chinese fishing industry suffers major economic loses. To effectively solve the problems involved in eating puffer fish in China and avoiding the influences of reducing the economic loses of puffer fish export, Dalian Fugu Aquatic Product Co., Ltd, as the first experimental enterprise of puffer fish and its products approved by national Ministry of Health and the member entity of “Research Collaboration Group in Safe Use of Puffer Fish”, works together with many institutes of scientific research, including Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, Dalian Polytechnic University, Dalian Maritime University, Dalian Fisheries University, etc. With the world largest land factory aquafarm and a state-level fine breed farm of puffer fish, Dalian Fugu Aquatic Product Co., Ltd possesses many world advanced technologies in toxin-control cultivation and toxin-removal processing of puffer fish.
